It is often necessary to reuse a file in an illustration and make it appear multiple times. For instance, if a single sample serves as a universal control against a large number of other samples. The Cytobank platform doesn't support reusing certain files in illustrations. Instead, the file should be duplicated within the Cytobank experiment as many times as necessary to accomplish the workflow.
Duplicating a file in the Cytobank platform has the same effect as uploading the same file twice. In essence, there will be a new physical copy of the file in the experiment.
To duplicate files in the Cytobank platform click on the Sample tags menu and select the Sample Tag Manager. From the Sample Tag Manager click on Duplicate file and select the file that you want to duplicate from the list as shown below.
Only files categorized as experimental or other controls, and files belonging to visible panels can be duplicated. Check out these articles to learn more about file categories and panel visibility in the Cytobank platform. Next, a message informs you of the final step to duplicate the file.
You can keep duplicating files or click on Apply changes.
Once you apply the changes, the FCS file will be duplicated, and this action can’t be undone. If you selected a file to duplicate by mistake, click on Undo all changes option instead of Apply changes.
